Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Redemptorist Catholic Church was the site this past Saturday for a Sacrament of Holy Matrimony.   The ceremony uniting Allison Elizabeth Donahue and Tucker Lee Noyes was officiated by Fr. Don Farnan began promptly at 1:30 in the afternoon.  Millie’s Event Designs was on site as the chosen “day of coordinator” or “wedding sitter” as we like to call it!

Spring time in Kansas City is one of the most beautiful times of the year.  The flowers are blooming and fountains destined to romance the senses are being turned on for summer.  Such was the case last Saturday in the beautiful Redemptorist Cathedral with Allie and Tucker saying “I do” in front of family and friends.  After being presented for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Tucker Noyes by Fr. Farnan, the couple was seamlessly whisked off to a waiting Trolley; www.crossroadtours.com that would take them and the wedding party around Kansas City to pose for pictures; www.melissaandbeth.com in front of other Kansas City landmarks.

While the wedding party was taking pictures, the guests made their way over to the Hilton President Hotel for a lovely cocktail hour on the Mezzanine. As the cocktail reception was coming to a close the bridal party rejoined the guests precisely as planned and enjoyed one last drink with them before heading upstairs to the Grand Ballroom.

As the guests came off the elevator they were greeted with a glass of champagne with a scroll attached that had each guest’s name and table number.  The ballroom was decorated in oversized centerpieces, with nosegay of beautiful hot pink and vibrant orange roses complimented with white hydrangeas and long daffodils filled with dark greenery. White tea light candles in glass cylinders of different heights completed the overall look of each table; www.bluebouquet.com.

The bride and groom welcomed each guest as they stood at their head table. The bride then gave the blessing prior to the salads being served. The first course was a Blue Salad (mixed greens with blueberries, apple and blue cheese crumbles) with a choice between Blueberry Lavender Vinaigrette or Champagne Honey Vinaigrette dressing. The second course was an entree of Herb crusted tenderloin with Fresh herbs served with Red Wine Reduction, French green beans with caramelized shallots and roasted garlic upon gold whipped potatoes. A grand four-tiered Wedding Cake;www.mclainskc.comwas served for desert along with a groom’s cake picturing the James Naismith Court at Kansas University

Right on cue, after the last table was served, it was now time for the ceremonial toasts. The Father of the bride – Rick Donahue began the ritual, followed by the Maid of honor – Sarah Donahue and the Best man – Spencer Glenn. The toasts were immediately followed by Allie and Tucker cutting the wedding cake and traditional champagne toast.

The Patrick Lentz Band was on stage to announce the first dance of the Wedding couple – Allie and Tucker, then Father/Bride and ending with Mother/Groom. The dance floor was then opened and the wedding cake plus the groom’s cake was served. After a few dances the single ladies gathered around to see which one would catch the tonight’s bridal bouquet.  Now it was time to have some fun with the sorority and fraternity dances as the new couple and guests celebrated late into the evening.

After you have meticulously planned for your wedding day, sit back and enjoy the festivities as Millie’s Event Designs’ day of coordinator/wedding sitter ensures that your big day starts promptly, and moves seamlessly and right on cue, precisely as you planned it!
