Every successful event that I’ve ever attended, whether it was a wedding, a fundraiser or a charity ball, had someone purposefully guiding the event from inception to execution.

Being in sales and marketing my entire adult career, I understand how much a good presentation can mean. I got my first real taste of planning events when I was asked to coordinate the grand opening of a new manufacturing facility in Reynosa, Mexico for Seagate Technology. After that, I began to volunteer to chair various fundraising events for my college sorority and other groups. I reached the pinnacle of being a volunteer event coordinator when I chaired Kansas City’s annual Sugar Plum Fairy Luncheon in 2005, 2007, and 2008. After these events, many of my friends and even some of the vendors I worked with suggested I get into the event planning business as a career. After much thoughtful reflection, I’ve decided that life is too short to not pursue it passionately by doing something you love. With that in mind, I’ve created Millie’s Event Designs so I can bring together people, vendors and events from inception to execution. Because every meaningful event, needs a guiding touch!
