What could be more memorable than a New Year’s Eve wedding? Take a moment to imagine kissing your new spouse at midnight, surrounded by your closest friends and family, with the sounds of the band “Twice on Sunday” counting down to midnight. Then at exactly at the stroke of midnight sparkler cannons going off to celebrate the beginning of 2023 and your happily ever after! This was the spectacular vision of Rachel Riggs and Connor Dorman’s New Year’s Eve Wedding.

The evening began when the wedding party’s bus arrived at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church for the 6:00pm Nuptial Mass. The celebrant was Father Mike Hawken who beautifully orchestrated the ceremony of Rachel Lauren Riggs and Connor Stephen Dorman. The wedding was complete when Father Hawken announced to the congregation the newly married Mr. & Mr. Connor Dorman. The couple along with their wedding party then recessed down the aisle and back onto their party bus to proceed to their reception at Fiorella’s Event Space.

As the guests were arriving at the reception venue, they were greeted by the couple’s signature cocktails. The bride’s cocktail consisted of Champagne in flutes, while the groom chose “The Family Fashion,” a family variation of an Old Fashion. Guests then picked up their table assignments and stepped into the large ballroom that had been transformed by Lander’s Visions into a New Years Eve party extravaganza.

Dinner service began promptly after the bridal party and newlyweds were introduced to the guests.  Once the last table had been served, it was then time for each guest to receive flutes filled with champagne for the upcoming toasts. The bride’s father began the evening festivities with a very heartfelt speech, followed by the maid of honor, and best men’s speeches.  The bride’s father then escorted his daughter onto the dance floor to have their traditional dance. Next it was time for the mother and son dance.  Now it was time for the bride and groom to have their first dance as husband and wife. The band then opened the dance floor inviting all the guests to join the newlyweds as everyone was dancing and enjoying the sounds of “Twice on Sunday.”

To assist in getting the guests into a New Years Eve state of mind, a Kardashian glam Photo Booth operated by Kreative Photobooth provided serval hours of entertainment. As midnight approached, other New Year’s party favors and props were made available to guests.

At the stroke of midnight, the newlyweds toasted with their closest friends and family to the band’s rendition of “Auld Lang Syne.” This New Year’s Eve wedding lived up to the bride’s grand vision in style with family, friends, fun props, champagne, live music, and sparkling cannons.

As we at Millie’s Event Designs look forward to the New Year of 2023, we too raise our glasses with good will, friendship, and kind regard. Cheers to Rachel and Connor for a long and happy life together! 🥂
