Scholar Parents and Cindy VonFeldt
Olathe Public Schools
The Olathe School District Board of Education was the site for a gathering of the Fry PathMaker Scholars.
This past Thursday night, the ten Fry PathMaker Scholars met for a night out with their AVID Counselors and parents. These Olathe students were selected through an application process administered by the Fry PathMaker Board.
The evening was kicked off with a welcome speech by co-founder Dr. Bob Fry. He went on to introduce Dr. Gretchen Sherk, Executive Director of General Administration and High School Programs along with Cindy VanFeldt, Executive Director of Olathe Public Schools Foundation.
Dr. Fry then proceeded to ask the scholars to work as a team, and arrange the buffet of pizza, salad, breadsticks and dessert for their guests. While everyone was enjoying the meal Dr. Fry introduced his family; his wife Dr. Mary Fry, their son Dr. Jeremy Fry and his wife Nicki along with their three children Caroline, Lilly and William. The microphone was then passed to the scholars who gave a brief bio and introduced their guests.
Once the introductions were complete, there was a drawing where each of our ten scholars was eligible to win three AMC Movie passes for two. The winners were Ian Njoroge, Anna Perez and Heather Booth. Congratulations!
It was a fun filled evening for the scholars and their guests. The Fry Family looks forward to the continued growth of the PathMaker Scholarship Foundation in the years to come.
