New Year’s Eve is a time for celebrating the coming new year. It is also a great time for weddings to celebrate the coming of a new beginning ahead for a bride and groom. On December 31, 2022, Caroline Gatti and Micah Canady celebrated the beginning of their new life together with a New Year’s Eve wedding at the Union event venue in downtown Kansas City.
Promptly at 7:00pm, Caroline and Micah were united in holy matrimony in front of their wedding party, family, and friends. The newlyweds then recessed down the aisle and made their way outside to their guests waving sparklers in a canopy vision to celebrate the newlywed’s new life together. As the sparklers went dim, the guests made their way upstairs to be greeted by a choice of a red or a white glass of wine. They then continued up to the top floor to their seats as the evening festivities were about to begin. Once the guests were seated, the wedding party was introduced followed by the introduction of Mr. & Mrs. Micah Canady. The bride and groom proceeded towards their wedding cake by the staircase to cut their cake and raised their flutes to celebrate with a champagne toast. The wedding party was seated at a head table, while the newlyweds had a sweetheart table open to their guests. The bride’s father, Dr. John Gatti gave a lovely welcome on behalf of the bride and groom’s families. A blessing was then delivered by Zach Denton prior to beginning dinner service.
Once the last table had gone through the buffet, it was now time to begin the evening’s events. The bride’s father Dr. John Gatti took center stage to give a heartfelt father of the bride speech and toast. Now it was time for the groom to escort his beautiful new bride onto the dance floor to have their first dance together as husband and wife. The bride remained on the dance floor and was joined by her father for their father/daughter dance. It was followed by a traditional mother and son dance with the groom. The guests gave rousing applause and cheers for the dances. The DJ then took to the microphone and invited all the guests to join the newlyweds onto the dance floor to begin the celebration in earnest.
The bride took a break from the dancing to have the single ladies join her on the dance floor to see what lucky young woman might catch her bouquet. Later the guests were treated to pizza, party hats, and celebratory horns to bring in the New Year. After a countdown to midnight, the guests could be seen kissing, cheering, and toasting to mark the beginning of 2023 and Caroline and Micah’s new life together.
Millie’s Event Designs was honored to work with the Gatti and Canady families to bring this beautiful celebration together and we wish Caroline and Micah many Happy New Years to come in their life together.
